Knowing MS, it will likely get 23 minutes of battery life.

Speaking as someone who recently installed SteamOS on his ROGAlly because Windows was too much floaty guff...

... I certainly hope that's not just Windows on there.

Never got it, but kinda like the look of Logitech's offering in the handhelds.

The Steam handheld always seemed off in some ways to me. SteamOS on a ROGAlly could be really nice. My steam games are all of MDickies, some 2D games and some retro 3D games. Nothing remotely advanced. Matt says he is using Unity these days, the last time I talked to him, but Unity plays well on lower end machines.

Would beat looking for the power adapted for my AMD Windows laptop, which is thew one I use for gaming.

Also, have I mentioned how much my RSI kicks in when playing the Rogally?
Because my god, does my RSI kick in when playing the Rogally..

A couple of weeks ago I grabbed Red Dead Redemption on Steam, and gave it a whirl, but after about 20 minutes or so, the cramps were.. aargh...

Meanwhile, I've been playing about an hour or two of Switch 2 every day since launch, and my wrists are perfectly fine.

Is it the chunkiness? Not sure. But a quick googling brings up a lot of folk with similar opinions on its wrist-health hazards.

That is a good point, I have enough problems with my hands cramping (not RSI) on a good day, not gaming, just trying to hold something as simple as a piece of paper or a pen or even trying to eat. I probably would not get along well with the ROGAlly sized consoles.

Guess for now, am sticking with my retro handheld that will play everything up to the PS2

Putting this here instead of a different thread as it is kinda related, but seriously, WTF? This is a perfect example of why I have never let a Windows system apply updates of any kind.

MS Dev 1 : [to exec] Didn't we do this before? Isn't this Metro?
Exec : SHUT UP AND MAKE IT...
[MS Dev 1 opens the draw and pulls out a floppy disk labelled Metro Backup]

Really hard to understand a handheld UI needing to be on all Windows machines. Not going to work on desktops, even if you have a touch screen. Windows tablets are virtually nonexistent, the closest you can get usually are hybrid laptops and they might have a touch screen. Still too big to use as a handheld.

I do have a very old Windows 10 hybrid, which is 10.1 inch, detachable keyboard, but besides not being able to run Windows 11, it does not have enough memory or CPU/GPU power for any remotely modern gaming.

Nobody with regular Windows systems will ever be able to use this. Only beneficial for strictly handheld devices.

Isn't this something that can just be disabled?

Do you mean "shouldn't this just be something that can be disabled", or do you mean "Is this something that Microsoft's going to let you disable"?

Needs to be something that can be uninstalled (or not installed by default). Bloat because you can, seems to be the hill MS has been willing to die on for decades.
